Students
Student Life at the College of Dentistry
Students choose UIC College of Dentistry not just because we offer a world-class oral health education continuously improved by innovation and led by expert faculty and staff – in the heart of the great city of Chicago – but also because our student experience is so enriching.
Student Life
One of the biggest reasons I chose UIC for dental school is because it’s so welcoming and supportive – it’s like a family.
Diversity

UIC is proud to be recognized as having one of the most ethnically and culturally rich college campuses in America.
Quote 2
My favorite about being a student here is the diversity. I get to learn from people with so many different backgrounds, cultures and ways of life. It’s a very welcoming student experience.

Research Experiences

The College of Dentistry offers students many opportunities to pursue an area of research study to enhance their education experience. The Student Research Group is a student-led initiative provide an opportunity for students to engage in a patient-based study at the level of scientific inquiry. The Multidisciplinary Oral Science Training (MOST) Program offers Summer and Predental Programs for Undergraduates.
Quote 3
As a student researcher, I have the advantage of impacting patient lives in and beyond the clinic.
Community Engagement

There are many ways our students get involved and enhance their training through Community Health programs. Students can:
- Run a dental clinic, and tranform the lives of Chicago area homeless people at Goldie’s Place.
- Educate children on the importance of prevention in Chicago area community schools and health centers.
- Serve as ambassadors to the College on rotations across and outside the US including Guatemala, Tanzania and China.
