Which care option is right for me?
We offer comprehensive, personalized treatment – with three choices of care including Student Dentistry (students in training), Advanced Specialty, (post graduate residents in training) or our Faculty Care Practice (care provided by faculty) – to match every care need, even the most challenging. Regardless of which option you choose, you will receive an estimate of cost before treatment, and personalized service including a comprehensive treatment plan that matches your needs.
How do I request an appointment?
For new patient appointments, go to our request an appointment center, choose the care option / service that matches your needs, then call for an appointment. If you’re a current patient, please contact your student dentist for appointments.
What should I bring to an appointment?
For easier appointment scheduling and payments, please bring the following with you to every visit:
- Photo ID
- Insurance/medical card
- Method of payment
- Dental referral for treatment (if applicable)’
- List of current medications (if applicable)
- Proof of guardianship/power of attorney (if applicable)
- Related dental records / Current radiographs (if applicable)
What are the costs and payments accepted?
The College of Dentistry operates on a reduced fee schedule to offer affordable and comprehensive oral health care (with the exception of our faculty care). In addition to all major credit cards (Visa, MC, Discover, American Express) the College also accepts cash, personal check and money orders. Many insurance plans are accepted (see a full list here). The College does not provide financing or payment plans for services provided.
Do you accept private dental insurance and Medicaid?
Yes. Many insurance plans are accepted (see a full list here). Many (not all) of our clinics accept Delta Dental of IL and the Illinois Department of Health and Family Services Medical Card (Medicaid / Public Aid) however Medicaid does not provide coverage for all services.
What specialty dental services are provided?
The College of Dentistry offers a comprehensive set of specialized oral health care services – all in one place. We have over 280 faculty and residents in six advanced specialty clinics including Endodontics, Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, Orthodontics, Pediatric Dentistry, Periodontics and Prosthodontics. How is the College of Dentistry different from a traditional dentist?
Our teaching clinics offer a complete range of oral health care services and are best for patients who require treatment matching our training needs, and have additional time to support our educational mission. Our clinics operate on a reduced fee schedule (except for faculty care), so the cost is usually lower than traditional dental offices. So, choosing the College of Dentistry offers our patients a great value.
