In November, #GivingTuesday closed at UIC with $140,012 in giving from 830 donors. The College of Dentistry was a key contributor to the campaign’s success, quintupling its giving numbers from last year.
At the 2018 Greater New York Dental Meeting (GNYDM), the College’s Hispanic Student Dental Association (HSDA) was announced as the winner of the Hispanic Dental Association (HDA) Chapter of the Year competition.
Dr. Sriram Ravindran, Assistant Professor, Oral Biology, and Dr. Praveen Gajendrareddy, Associate Professor, Periodontics, have earned a National Institutes of Health R01 grant of approximately $2 million in funding over five years from the National Institutes of Health to develop a better way to regenerate bone or tissues that have been lost to disease or injury.
The Fry Foundation has provided a grant to the UIC College of Dentistry’s Department of Pediatric Dentistry for a dual purpose. One is for the department to perform a community needs assessment, to determine families’ requirements, wants, and barriers concerning pediatric dental care.
