The Inclusive Care Clinic (ICC) in the Division of Prevention and Public Health Sciences at the University of Illinois Chicago College of Dentistry is seeking with experience in serving patients with disabilities to fill several full-time faculty non-tenure positions.
The ICC serves patients with disabilities 15 years and older, with a particular emphasis on providing comfortable, competent care for neuro-diverse patients (e.g., patients with autism spectrum disorders, psychiatric, and behavioral conditions) and those who otherwise experience challenges receiving dental care. The goals of this clinic are to provide clinical opportunities to gain experience working with patients with special needs, to provide unmet special care services and to provide clinical research opportunities.
Faculty members will serve as educators, mentors, and supervising clinicians and will be involved in program development and didactic and clinical teaching in the pre-doctoral dental curriculum. The faculty members will report and work closely with the Director of the Inclusive Care Clinic.
Minimum qualifications include a DDS/DMD or equivalent. General Practice Residency (GPR) or equivalent experience. An active dental license and/or be eligible for full licensure in Illinois, or be eligible to obtain a restricted faculty license. Experience in providing clinical care and instruction in the treatment of patients with medically complex conditions, acquired, developmental and intellectual disabilities, and other specialized healthcare needs in an outpatient clinical setting.
Experience in evidenced-based dentistry, curriculum development and interprofessional education is highly preferred.
The ideal candidate has a strong commitment to interdisciplinary care, a willingness to engage other academic departments, and a desire to affect positive change with an innovative and collaborative spirit.
The budgeted salary range for the position is $120,000 to $165,000. Salary is competitive and commensurate with qualifications and experience, while also considering internal equity.

Assistant/Associate Professor (Tenure Track)
Department of Oral Biology
The Department of Oral Biology at the College of Dentistry, University of Illinois Chicago is seeking to fill a full-time position at the Assistant/Associate Professor level. The department is looking to leverage the College’s existing strengths to advance oral, dental and craniofacial research.
The department seeks individuals with experience in conducting research in biomaterials, tissue engineering, craniofacial pathobiology, translational sciences, with special emphasis on oral dental, and craniofacial research areas. The candidate is expected to establish collaborations with both clinical and research faculty at the college as well as with faculty across the campus at UIC. With respect to teaching, the candidate is expected to develop and teach undergraduate and graduate level courses in for MS, PhD as well as residents. The candidate is expected to have a history of mentorship of graduate students, postdoctoral fellows, and dental residents.
Eligible candidates are required to possess research expertise and doctoral degree (PhD) in one of the following research areas: biomaterials, materials sciences. engineering, microbiology, molecular biology, or equivalent. The candidate is expected to possess good postdoctoral training with an outstanding publication record. The candidate is expected to demonstrate a high likelihood for extramural funding. Preference will be given to dual trained clinician-scientists (i.e., holding a DDS, DMD, or equivalent degree, and a PhD degree) with a proven track record of funding or with existing extramural support for research.

Clinical Assistant Professor (Anatomy)

The Department of Oral Biology at the College of Dentistry, University of Illinois Chicago is seeking to fill a full-time position at the Clinical Assistant Professor level. This faculty member will participate in teaching, service and scholarly activities in the College of Dentistry. This person may be required to direct a graduate course in the College’s graduate curriculum.
The successful candidate is expected to develop and implement anatomy content for the predoctoral and graduate curriculum, provide instructions in anatomical sciences (gross anatomy, embryology, neuroanatomy and histology) presented in lab and didactic sessions within the clinical context of an integrated organ systems-based curriculum. The candidate is expected to collaborate with basic and clinical science educators and program directors to coordinate the horizontal and vertical integration of anatomy within organ/system-based courses, design, and implement cadaver dissection- and prosection-based anatomy laboratory experiences for the College’s curriculum.
Eligible candidates are required to possess a PhD in anatomy or related field, or equivalent degree and have experience in teaching anatomical sciences content in a health professions program at the pre-doctoral and post-graduate levels. Preference will be given to candidates having experience such as leadership in teaching, mentoring and research, ability to mentor pre-doctoral students and graduate students, expertise in neuroanatomy and teaching experience at both pre-doctoral and post-graduate levels.

Clinical Assistant Professor

The Department of Periodontics, at the Univ of IL Chicago, located in a large metro area, is seeking full-time Clinical Assistant Professor to assist the department with the following responsibilities:
- Under direction and supervision, perform Dentistry and Periodontology and teach dental students periodontal anatomy, periodontal health and disease, non-surgical therapy, surgical therapy and implant dentistry.
- Participate in the development and application of creative advances in oral health care through education excellence and the generation of the new knowledge through creative and original research.
- Collaborate with faculty to develop interdisciplinary curriculum.

The Department of Endodontics at the University of Illinois Chicago is seeking qualified candidates for several faculty positions from 10% FTE to 40% FTE (part-time) in the non-tenure clinical track for the Pre-Doctoral and Post-Doctoral education programs. The Department of Endodontics aspires to be one of the top clinical endodontic training programs in the world, while actively engaging our residents in important clinical and translational research. The department has responsibility for educational and research programs at the undergraduate, postgraduate, and continuing education levels. An accredited program at the postdoctoral level is available for qualified students wishing to become specialists in endodontics. The department seeks individuals with a strong commitment to interdisciplinary care and willingness to engage with all departments in the college. Responsibilities will include didactic and clinical teaching responsibilities at the predoctoral and postgraduate levels.
Candidates must have an earned DDS/DMD (or equivalent) degree, be eligible for licensure in Illinois, and have completed a CODA approved Advanced Dental Education Program in Endodontics. Board eligibility is required and board certification in endodontics is preferred. The successful candidate should have a minimum of two years teaching experience in endodontics with a demonstrated commitment to excellence in teaching and student mentorship, scholarship, and service. Extensive clinical experience is desirable. The preferred candidate should demonstrate the ability to promote an equitable, inclusive and diverse scholarly environment. An advanced degree (M.S., MEd, PhD, etc) is desirable. Approximately one day/week intramural or extramural clinical practice opportunity is available.

The UIC College of Dentistry is seeking reliable, enthusiastic, self-starting individuals who are looking to enter the field of oral health as an Extra Help Dental Assistant I and participate in the Summer 2025 Cohort of our Dental Assistant Pathway Program (DAPP). The Summer 2025 Cohort will begin in May 2025.
The College of Dentistry was awarded a 3-year grant from the Otho S. A. Sprague Memorial Institute to support the launch of a Dental Assistant Pathway Program (DAPP), an employee training program that provides young adults, community members, and other individuals interested in the oral health field with a pathway to advance their career as a dental assistant. Through a combination of asynchronous online instruction, in-person classroom lectures, and clinical rotations, participants will receive 15 weeks of on the job foundational training that will prepare them for the Dental Assisting National Board Examination while employed at the College of Dentistry as an Extra Help Dental Assistant I – DAPP.
