COVID-19 College Updates
Students, faculty and staff who are exempted due to health or religious reasons will need to report to the College but be masked at all times and will be required to COVID Saliva test at least once a week. This is monitored by campus through the UIC HealthCheck and use of UIC Wireless systems. COVID testing will occur at SCW and will need to be done on work hours (preferably close to break times) and coordinated to avoid operational disruptions.
Faculty and staff who have been fully vaccinated need to upload a copy of the vaccination card or go into your UI Health MyChart portal and click “allow this one piece of information” to be shared with campus.
In regards to College operations, clinical activities are currently normal. Masks are required at all times in public or common use areas (e.g., teaching laboratories). The masking requirement will continue at least through the fall 2021 term.
Based on new CDC recommendations and on the advice of UIC health care experts, the campus has updated the outdoor campus masking policy as follows, effective immediately:
- Individuals who are fully vaccinated are no longer required to wear masks outdoors on university property.
- Individuals who are not fully vaccinated are allowed to unmask outdoors on university property if traveling alone more than 6 feet from others.
- Masking indoors is still required, including in classrooms, except when alone in a private office or personal residence hall room, or when an individual has a medical condition, disability or other reason that prevents them from safely wearing a face mask.
- Scarves, bandanas and gaiters are not to be worn on the UIC campus when a mask is required, as they do not provide the same level of protection as a face mask.
CURRENT Students
Need to disclose vaccination status by August 1, 2021. All must be fully vaccinated by October 1, 2021 or have approved exemptions or accommodations.
Faculty and Staff
Must be fully vaccinated by OCTOBER 1, 2021 and show proof of vaccination through UIC HealthCheck or UI Health EPIC MyChart.

Vaccines and On Campus COVID-19 Testing
The UI System and UIC now require ALL FACULTY, STAFF, AND STUDENTS to be vaccinated with one of the US-FDA EUA vaccines.
All must be fully vaccinated by October 1, 2021 or have approved exemptions or accommodations. Faculty and Staff must be fully vaccinated by OCTOBER 1, 2021 and show proof of vaccination through UIC HealthCheck or UI Health EPIC MyChart.
