Students Provide Much Needed Dental Care for Adolescents with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities Students at UIC College of Dentistry receive the training necessary to provide much needed oral health care to our intellectual and developmental disabled neighbors. Part of this training includes visits to area health centers and agencies that specialize in serving the needs of the disabled in Chicago. ASDA Honors Faculty for Community Outreach The UIC chapter of the American Student Dental Association (ASDA) on April 12 presented its Advocate Award to Dr. Sahar Alrayyes, Clinical Associate Professor, Pediatric Dentistry. Dr. Alrayyes received the award for the effort she put into the Smiles for A Safe Haven event in July.
