UIC Orthodontic Resident Dr. Nourah Abdul Kader Won the AAO Ortho Innovator Award 2025

Dr. Nourah Abdul Kader, third-year orthodontic resident at the University of Illinois Chicago Department of Orthodontics

Congratulations to Dr. Nourah Abdul Kader, third-year orthodontic resident at the University of Illinois Chicago Department of Orthodontics, for winning the prestigious AAO Ortho Innovator Award in the upcoming AAO Annual Session 2025.

Dr. Nourah Abdul Kader and Mr. Karthik Vinayagamoorthi, an AI-powered Electronic Medical Records solution developer and experienced practice management consultant, co-founded OrthoBerry. The company offers the first AI-driven new patient intake platform designed specifically for orthodontic practices.

Unlike traditional fragmented software solutions, OrthoBerry integrates essential practice workflows — including insurance verification, patient intake forms, call handling, case presentation, patient payments, and task management — into a single AI-powered system. The system is designed to reduce operational overhead, streamline processes, and enable practices to harness AI for enhanced efficiency.

OrthoBerry revolutionizes patient intake by leveraging open-source, large-language models to enhance efficiency, reduce administrative burden, and deliver a seamless, patient-centric experience with a mobile-friendly, intuitive, and transparent interface.

“OrthoBerry transforms the new patient experience by providing a personalized, frictionless journey before patients even step into the practice – helping orthodontists differentiate themselves in a competitive landscape,” said Dr. Kader. “We are thrilled and honored to receive recognition from the AAO Ortho Innovator program.”

Dr. Kader will receive the 2025 Ortho Innovator award on Friday, April 25, at 8:30 a.m. in Room 108 of the Pennsylvania Convention Center. The presentation is open to all registrants.
