About

Dr. Qiao Fang earned his dental degree from Wenzhou Medical University in China, his Master of Science in Dentistry (MSD), postdoctoral training and certificate in Implant Dentistry from Loma Linda University in California, USA. After his postgraduate residency, Dr. Fang further completed a fellowship in Implant Dentistry at Loma Linda University.

Dr. Qiao Fang is currently a full-time faculty member at the University of Illinois Chicago College of Dentistry, where he serves in multiple capacities as a dedicated educator and mentor, including course director and co-director for third- and fourth-year Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) students, faculty mentor for the Advanced Predoctoral Implant Program and content expert for the Objective Structured Clinical Examination. He is also a committee member on both the Admissions Committee and the Curriculum Committee. Beyond the college, he serves on the Research Committee of the American Academy of Fixed Prosthodontics (AAFP), headquartered in Chicago, Illinois.

Dr. Fang’s areas of expertise include dental implants, esthetic dentistry, and artificial intelligence in dentistry. He is a licensed dentist in the state of Illinois and is committed to providing high-quality dental care in the Implant and Innovations Clinic at the college, with a focus on prosthodontics, dental implants and esthetic dentistry. In addition to his clinical work, Dr. Fang remains active in research, regularly publishing peer-reviewed papers and presenting research findings at dental conferences. He also serves as review editor for multiple international peer-reviewed journals, such as npj Digital Medicine, The Journal of Prosthetic Dentistry, BMC Oral Health, BioMedical Engineering OnLine, and Frontiers in Dental Medicine. He lectures nationally and internationally on the use of artificial intelligence in clinical application and dental education, as well as on implant and prosthodontic treatments in the esthetic zone.
