About
Luis Mezzomo graduated in Dentistry at the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio Grande do Sul in 2003. Dr. Mezzomo did his training in Prosthodontics at the Lutheran University of Brazil from 2004 to 2007. In 2008 he was granted an ITI Scholarship at the Eastman Dental Institute (London), and completed his Implant Fellowship in the following year. In 2010 he was granted with a PhD in Prosthodontics for studies in Alveolar Ridge Preservation.
Dr. Mezzomo was an Adjunct Professor of Prosthodontics in the Department of Dentistry, Federal University of Santa Catarina Brazil, from 2013 to 2023, and mentored students for their MSc and PhD degrees in Prosthodontics. Dr. Mezzomo was the Principal Investigator of an ITI-Funded clinical trial on extra-short Straumann dental implants.
Dr. Mezzomo has published over sixty articles, twenty-six of them in international peer-reviewed journals. He also has collaborations with Queen Mary's University of London, Semmelweis University (Budapest), University of Florida (Gainesville), Istanbul Okan University, and the University of Sao Paulo.
Dr. Mezzomo is a Fellow and Speaker on the International Team for Implantology. He is also a member of the ITI Board of Studies, aiming at developing the ITI Diploma Program. He lectures nationally and internationally, focusing on the topics of Short Dental Implants and Digital Workflow for the Edentulous Patient.
