About
Cristina Bordabeheres was born and raised in Chicago. She is passionate about her profession and helping others. In addition to being a hygienist, she is a certified optician and has gone on several optical missions around the world in countries such as Thailand and Ecuador. She is specialized in low vision. Another passion is nutrition and its positive impact on diabetes control. Cristina has visited Cuba many times to see family and values diversity in culture, language and food! She is fluent in Spanish and has taught her two sons the value of being bilingual in order to help others in need.

Research Currently in Progress
For future research endeavors, I am interested in diabetes in the Latino community, Public health disparities in the Latino community and limitations to oral healthcare. Implant care for the diabetic patient, obesity in children and the effects on oral health.
