UIC Orthodontics obtained five AAOF awards
UIC Orthodontics is delighted to share with you that our program obtained five AAOF awards. For the fourth consecutive year, we have obtained the highest number of AAOF awards. This is yet another proud moment in our long history of excellence. Congratulations to the 2024 AAOF Awards Program winners:
Dr. Phimon Atsawasuwan – Biomedical Research Award for the project titled “Biocompatibility and Physical Behaviors of Aligner Materials After Different Cleaning Methods” (PI: Phimon Atsawasuwan, Co-investigators: Budi Kusnoto, Mohammed H. Elnagar, Grace Viana, Spiro Megremis, and Hui Chen)
Dr. Mohammed H. Elnagar – Biomedical Research Award for the project titled “Developing a Generative AI System for Predicting Dento-Facial Changes Following Orthodontic Treatment and Orthognathic Surgery: A Novel Approach by generation predictive images” (PI: Mohammed H. Elnagar, Co-PI: Ahmet Enis Cetin, Co-investigators: Rashid Ansari and Sath Allareddy)
Dr. Min Kyeong Lee – Orthodontics Faculty Development Award for the project titled “Neonatal Cleft Lip Repair in the United States: Trends and Safety Using National Surgical Quality Improvement Program” (PI: Min Kyeong Lee; Project Mentor: Sath Allareddy; Co-investigators: Maysaa Oubaidin, Mohammed H. Elnagar, Flavio Sanchez and Soumya Padala)
Dr. Nourah Abdul Kader – Research Aid Award for the project titled “Facilitators and Barriers to Providing Orthodontic Care for Children with Special Health Care Needs” (PI: Nourah Abdul Kader; Project Mentor: Sath Allareddy; Co-investigators: Min Kyeong Lee, Maysaa Oubaidin, and Flavio Sanchez)
