UIC Department of Orthodontics Annual Fund Raising for Breast Cancer Awareness Month
UIC Department of Orthodontics' annual fund raising event during the Breast Cancer Awareness month marked a great success. Not only did our orthodontic residents wear pink gloves, masks and gowns, the patients were also encouraged to wear pink braces and elastics for a great cause. Donation was made to The H Foundation (https://www.hfoundation.org/donate-now) to support basic science cancer research that is crucial to finding a cure for breast cancer. The resident who started this Fundraiser at UIC Orthodontics is John Polivka, a 2016 UIC Ortho graduate. His mother was diagnosed with breast cancer while he was a resident, so this initiative has been very close to his heart. He is so grateful that the faculty and residents at the UIC Department of Orthodontics has been continuing on the tradition!
