Orthodontic residents winning special awards on UIC COD Clinic and Research Day 2025
Congratulations to Drs. Katherine Howard and Evan Chwa for receiving special awards during the UIC College of Dentistry 38th Clinic and Research Day on February 27, 2025.
Dr. Katherine Howard’s research “COVID-19 Clinical Outcomes in Hospitalized Patients with Obstructive Sleep Apnea” won the First Place Resident Award in Population Health Sciences.
Dr. Evan Chwa’s research “AI-Based Cephalometric Landmark Detection via Deep Learning Networks Evaluation” won the Third Place Resident Award in Clinical Sciences.
All third-year orthodontic postgraduate students at the UIC Department of Orthodontics presented their research projects and findings at the Clinic and Research Day, an annual event at the UIC College of Dentistry. The event allows students, postgrads, and research staff to present their research achievements to the College and the larger research community. Continuing education opportunities, dental products and services exhibits, a keynote lecture and student awards are all part of this day. Heartfelt thanks to everyone who participated and the incredible support provided by the faculty! Congratulations to the winners!
