Dr. Therese Galang-Boquiren installed as president of the Illinois Orthodontics Society

On Friday, April 4, 2025, Dr. Therese Galang-Boquiren was installed as president of the Illinois Society of Orthodontists (ISO) during the organization’s Spring Scientific Meeting at Maggiano’s Oak Brook, Illinois. She is the fourth woman to serve as president in the ISO’s 100-year history. The ISO is one of nine components of the Midwest Society of Orthodontists, a constituent of the American Association of Orthodontists. Congratulations, Dr. Galang-Boquiren on this remarkable achievement!
Dr. Galang-Boquiren is a Professor and Director of Predoctoral Orthodontics at the Department of Orthodontics of University of Illinois at Chicago. Her experience in academia is complemented with private clinical practice and a hospital appointment as Consultant Orthodontist at the John H Stroger Jr Hospital of Cook County, Division of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. Because of her successful collaboration with the UIC Colleges of Nursing and Medicine in the field of dental sleep medicine, she has recently been appointed as one of the directors of the Illinois Sleep Society. Upon her appointment as the President of the ISO, Dr. Galang-Boquiren expressed her commitment to develop leadership, promote public relations, and establish policy for the ISO. She will strive to advance the quality of orthodontics in the state of Illinois by providing the highest level of continuing education to its society members.
