The Department of Orthodontics held their Resident Awards Event this past Monday, June 21 virtually via Zoom. Seven awards were distributed this year for a total of $36,000 in award monies. This year’s awardees were: Drs. Ruidan Ma, Samim Taraji, Vivian Snider, Raj Desai, Peter Durbin, Matan Farhi, and Kayla Yip.
During this event, the following awards were announced:
- The Dr. Jerome and Mrs. Joy Fein Endowed Scholarship. The award provides a third year resident with $20,000 in tuition support.
- The Dr. Eugene and Mrs. Pauline Gucker Blair Endowed Scholarship. The award provides a third year resident with $4,000 in tuition support.
- Department of Orthodontics Scholarships. $2,500 each in tuition supports for third year residents and one award of $2000 in tuition supports for a second year resident.
Below are the winners and their awards:
- Dr. Ruidan Ma – Dr. Jerome and Mrs. Joy Fein Endowed Orthodontic Resident Scholarship
- Dr. Samim Taraji – The Dr. Eugene and Mrs. Pauline Gucker Blair Endowed Scholarship
- Drs. Raj Desai, Vivian Snider, Matan Farhi, and Peter Durbin – Third Year Department of Orthodontics scholarships
- Dr. Kayla Yip – Second Year Department of Orthodontics scholarship
The Brodie Research Awards will be selected by August and will be announced at the Graber Seminar Series Event, on September 25, 2021.
