Dr. John Tran earned his DMD degree from University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC) College of Dentistry in 2018. In dental school, Dr. Tran received the Dr. William F. Stroner Scholarship, Luz Bondoc Award, Dr. William S. Kramer Award and was inducted into the Omicron Kappa Upsilon (OKU) dental honor society. As a National Health Service Corps (NHSC) scholar, Dr. Tran worked at a community health center in Beloit, Wisconsin and provided comprehensive dental care for the underserved community by the Illinois-Wisconsin border for 3 years. He accumulated over 500 continuing education hours and is FAGD-eligible. During his time in Wisconsin, Dr. Tran also served as an Adjunct Clinical Assistant Professor for the UIC College of Dentistry where he oversaw rotating fourth year UIC dental students on their extramural rotations.
After completing the residency program, Dr. Tran aspires to become a Board-Certified endodontist and enter private practice. He would like to be actively involved in academia on a part-time basis.
Dr. Tran lives in the Chicago suburb with his fiancé and two lovely Malteses (Jazz & Blues). In his spare time, he enjoys cooking, hiking, bike riding, and playing classical piano.
