About
Dr. Cunningham grew up on the south side of Chicago. He served our country and continued his education during a 6 year term in the US Navy where he was trained as a Cytotechnologist and worked in a pathology lab screening for cancer. After his service in the Navy and completing his undergraduate degree at Roosevelt University. He completed his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree at the University of Illinois College of Dentistry in 1993 while continuing to work as a cytotechnolgist during dental school. He then earned his Specialty degree in Periodontics and Masters degree in Oral Science at the University of Illinois College of Dentistry in 1996. Dr. Cunningham has been practicing Periodontics for the past 28 years in the Western Suburbs. He is also currently a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Periodontics Department at the University of Illinois College of Dentistry where he enjoys passing on his clinical knowledge to the predoctoral students and the Residents in the Specialty program in Periodontics. Dr Cunningham’s practice involves all aspects of periodontal therapy including non- surgical and surgical care of periodontal condition, reconstruction of the oral hard and soft tissues, sinus surgery for implants, and implant placement and care for ailing implants. He is also trained and in laser surgery for treating periodontitis. Outside of dentistry Dr Cunningham lives in the western suburbs with his wife and 2 daughters and enjoys golf, travel, and fitness.
