Dr. Michelle Marcano appointed interim managing partner of Vivaldi Clinic

Effective August 16, Dr. Michelle Marcano has been named interim managing partner of the Group Practice Vivaldi Clinic at the University of Illinois Chicago College of Dentistry.
Marcano, clinical assistant professor in the department of restorative dentistry, joined the college in 2020 and teaches in both the predoctoral pre-patient care and clinical curricula. She serves as director of the fixed partial prosthodontics course and provides instruction in the Vivaldi Clinic, giving her extensive experience in preparing students for clinic entry and overseeing their clinical education during patient care. A prosthodontist and member of the Faculty Dental Practice, Marcano has also mentored student poster presentations that earned 3rd and 1st place awards at the college’s Clinic and Research Day competitions. She serves on the subcommittee of student promotions and the dental materials committee, and in 2021, completed the UIC Scholars for Teaching Excellence Faculty Fellowship Program.
Marcano earned her dental degree from Universidad Santa María School of Dentistry in Caracas, Venezuela, and her certificate in prosthodontics and master’s degree from Columbia University College of Dental Medicine.
As interim managing partner, Marcano will oversee the clinical education of 45–50 Vivaldi students each year while ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient care in the clinic.
