About
Dr. Luan is clinical assistant professor in the Department of Periodontics. He completed his dental degree from King’s College London, England, receiving the prestigious Frank Ashley Prize from the British Society of Periodontology. Following graduation, he was selected as a Thouron Scholar to attend the University of Pennsylvania where he completed his specialist training in Periodontics and Dental Implantology and received his Masters degree in Oral Biology.
Dr. Luan is a classically trained musician in both the piano and violin, receiving his music diplomas from the Royal Schools of Music, London. He is a Health Professions Education fellow at Johns Hopkins University and an American Academy of Periodontology Fellow of the Institute for Teaching and Learning. He is actively involved with American Dental Education Association as Emerging Academic Leaders Scholar and the American Dental Association’s Institute for Diversity in Leadership.
