UIC Chicago Aging & Health Symposium

This is a multi-disciplinary symposium aiming to create a forum for presentation, discussion and collaborative opportunities in the field of aging and health.

The symposium will highlight efforts from basic to community research organized into three interactive sessions with short presentations by three lead researchers followed by a panel discussion in the areas of biology of aging, basic sciences, clinical sciences, and community health research.

The symposium will feature two distinguished keynote talks by Dr. Jay Olshansky (UIC) and Dr. Lisa Barnes (Rush) and a round table lunch for an engaging and informal cross-disciplinary conversation.

Registration is free but required. There will be no on-site registration. Students, Faculty and clinicians are welcome. Please register by May 10, 2019.

National Prosthodontics Awareness Week (NPAW) is a great opportunity to connect with our community to bring attention to the specialty and to our school. The goal is to raise awareness of the specialty and understanding about the advanced skills and expertise that prosthodontists offer.

There will be  week-long series of events celebrating the specialty of prosthodontics, including Advanced Prosthodontics Research Day, Monday April 8th.

About the Program

Advanced Education Program in Prosthodontics

The University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC) College of Dentistry is home to one of the largest advanced prosthodontic training programs and care practices in the country. The objective of the UIC Advanced Education Program in Prosthodontics is to help highly motivated students with proven clinical and scholastic abilities achieve clinical excellence in prosthodontics. The program leads to Specialty Certification and eligibility for examination by the American Board of Prosthodontics. Students may concurrently pursue a Master of Science degree. Specific goals of the program include acquisition of in-depth knowledge and clinical experience in fixed prosthodontics, removable partial denture prosthodontics, complete denture prosthodontics, implant prosthodontics, maxillofacial prosthetics, and occlusion.

9th Annual Advanced Prosthodontics Program Research Day

On Monday, April 8, 2019, the Restorative Dentistry Department and the Advanced Prosthodontics Program at the University of Illinois at Chicago will hold the 9th Annual Advanced Prosthodontics Program Research Day.
 

During this inspiring event, our residents will present their research plans, progress, and/or outcome with a direct clinical focus. The format will be 10-minutes presentation and 5-minutes question and answer periods.
