First Year Postgraduate Students
Dr. Ashley Coulter
Dr. Ashley Coulter is from Novi, Michigan and earned her Bachelor of Science in Physiology and Bioethics at the Lyman Briggs College of Michigan State University in 2010. She graduated cum laude from Harvard School of Dental Medicine in 2014 and is a member of the Gamma Gamma Chapter of the Omicron Kappa Upsilon National Dental Honor Society. Dr. Coulter then completed a one-year hospital-based general practice residency at the University of Michigan prior to beginning her endodontic residency.
In her free time she likes to spend time with her fiancé, family, friends and her dog, Riley.
Upon graduation, Dr. Coulter plans to become Board Certified by the ABE and return to Michigan to start her career both in private practice and part time in academia.
Dr. Julia Nguyen
Dr. Julia Nguyen is from Fayetteville, Arkansas and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Biology and minor in Finance from the University of Arkansas. Dr. Nguyen received her DDS degree from the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Dentistry in 2014. During her senior year of dental school, she participated in an Advanced Studies Program in Endodontics. This past year, Dr. Nguyen completed a General Practice Residency at York Hospital in York, Pennsylvania.
Julia enjoys traveling, tennis, pilates, and spending time with friends and family.
Upon graduation, Dr. Nguyen plans to enter private practice. She also intends to become board certified by the ABE.
Dr. Manila Nuchhe Pradhan
Dr. Manila Nuchhe Pradhan is originally from Nepal. She received her
degree of Doctor of Dental Medicine from University of Baguio,
Philippines in 2002. Upon graduation, Dr. Pradhan returned back to her
home country and practiced as a General Dentist and also volunteered for
numerous outreaches in remote regions of Nepal.Dr. Pradhan moved to the
United States in 2008. She joined New York University College of
Dentistry for Advanced Standing program in 2009, graduating in 2012.
While at NYU Dr. Pradhan was inducted into Omicron Kappa Upsilon, Omega
chapter. Dr. Pradhan’s area of interest for research is Pulp
Revascularization. After graduation Dr. Pradhan worked as a General
Dentist for three years in Houston, Texas.
Dr. Pradhan enjoys
spending time with her family, and loves hiking and biking. She would
want to trek to Everest base camp and Annapurna base camp in the future.
graduation, Dr. Pradhan plans to become Board Certified by the American
Board of Endodontics and join private practice in Houston, Texas.
Dr. Masood Sirjani
Masood Sirjani comes from Arizona and earned his Doctorate of Pharmacy from the University of Arizona in 2003. He graduated from New York University College of Dentistry in 2008. While attending New York University, Dr. Sirjani was awarded the Dean's Scholarship for academic achievement. He is also the recipient of the Lilu Hunter Stevens, Andrew P. Martin, Samuel H. Morris, and Charles M. Nielsen scholarships for community service. After completing a general practice residency at Greater Los Angeles VA / UCLA in 2011, Dr. Sirjani was in private dental practice and public health dentistry for over 3 years prior to beginning the program. His areas of research interest include stem cell research, peptide binding motifs of MHC class I molecules, and pharmacology of pain and inflammation.
Dr. Sirjani is married with one daughter. In his spare time he enjoys spending time with his family, traveling, photography, racquetball, hiking, camping, fishing, volunteering as a dentist abroad, and serving the underprivileged.
Upon graduation, Dr. Sirjani plans to become board certified by the ABE, enter private practice, teach, and continue his involvement in public health.
Second Year Postgraduate Students
Dr. Lauren Allegretti
Dr. Lauren Allegretti graduated from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 2010 with a Bachelor of Science in Molecular and Cellular Biology and minors in Spanish and Chemistry. Dr. Allegretti received her DDS degree from the UIC College of Dentistry in 2014. Her research interests include pain control, patient satisfaction with endo versus implants, and cone beam volumetric tomography.
Lauren enjoys running, yoga, and spending time with friends and family in her free time.
Upon graduation, Dr. Allegretti plans to enter private practice and eventually teach at a dental school. She also intends to become board certified by the ABE.
Dr. Andy Barseghyan
Andok Barseghyan is originally from Armenia. He received his degree of Physician in the field of Stomatology in 2002 after graduation of Yerevan State Medical University in Armenia. Same year Dr. Barseghyan has been enrolled in to Prosthodontic residency program at National Institute Of Health in Armenia, meanwhile he also worked as a general dentist part time. In 2004 Dr. Barseghyan moved to USA and started working as an assistant in general dental practice. He attended several Prosthodotic and Endodontic CE courses with his mentor doctor while working as an assistant. In 2012 Dr. Barseghyan has been accepted into University of Colorado Denver School of Dental Medicine International Student Program, which he graduated in 2013 December with DDS degree.
Dr. Barseghyan is a member of Pi Rho Chapter of Omicron Kappa Upsilon Honor Dental Society. Prior starting Postgraduate Endodontic program in UIC Dr. Barseghyan worked in general dental practice in Rockford, IL.
Dr. Barseghyan likes outdoor activates. While in Colorado his hobbies were road and mountain biking, skiing and kayaking.
Upon graduation, Dr. Barseghyan plans to join private Endodontic practice and teach part time in dental school.
Dr. Cynthia Czaperacker
Dr. Cynthia Czaperacker is from Grand Island, NY, a small freshwater island nestled between Buffalo and Niagara Falls, NY. Dr. Czaperacker earned a Bachelor and Master of Science in Biomedical Engineering from University of Rochester and Northwestern University. She graduated from the University of Pittsburgh's School of Dental Medicine in 2013. While attending Pitt Dental, Dr. Czaperacker was awarded the Abe and Yeta Zurbow Scholarship for leadership,contributed to research in dental genetics, and was crowned Miss Czech-Slovak Pennsylvania 2012. This past year, Dr. Czaperacker completed a one-year General Practice Residency at Hampton Virginia's Veterans' Affairs Medical Center.
Dr. Czaperacker enjoys spending time with friends and family, supporting the Buffalo Bills and Sabres, and traveling in her spare time.
Upon graduation, Dr. Czaperacker hopes to become Board Certified by the ABE and enter private practice in Western New York.
Dr. Alexandra Martella
Dr. Alexandra Martella comes from Farmington Hills, Michigan and earned her Bachelor of Science in Biopsychology from the University of Michigan in 2010. Dr. Martella graduated from the University of Detroit Mercy School of Dentistry in 2014. While attending dental school Dr. Martella was awarded the AAE Student Achievement Award and inducted into both the Omicron Kappa Upsilon and Alpha Sigma Nu honor societies. Dr. Martella’s areas of research interests are cone beam computed tomography and pain control.
Alex enjoys running, yoga, and cooking in her free time.
Upon graduation, Dr. Martella plans to enter private practice as well as teach part time. Dr. Martella plans to become Board Certified by the ABE.
