The UIC College of Dentistry 2020 Commencement Ceremony is on Thursday, May 7, 2020 at the UIC Credit Union1 Arena. Information regarding the ceremony location, event details, family hooders, student caps and gowns, and parking can all be found below.

Commencement Ceremony Schedule
Date: Thursday, May 7, 2020
Time: Program begins promptly at 10:00 a.m. Doors will open at 9:15 a.m. for general opening seating. All graduates, family hooders, and faculty participants must arrive by 9:00 a.m.
Location: UIC Credit Union1 Arena located at 525 South Racine, Chicago, IL 60607.
Tickets are not required. Seating is on a first come, first served basis. Doors will open at 9:15 a.m. for general opening seating.
Accessibility and Accommodations
Guests with special needs or those who are hearing-impaired may request seating assistance from the staff on duty. A sign language interpreter will be present on stage for the benefit of students and guests who are hearing impaired.

Metal Detector and Bag Policies
The UIC Credit Union1 Arena has strict bag policies as well as mandatory passage through metal detectors for entry to the building. Please be sure to review the policies below prior to the ceremony.
Photography services will be provided by Grad Images. An individual photograph will be taken of each graduate as they are hooded on stage. A photo proof will be sent to each graduate's email approximately one week after the ceremony for purchasing opportunities.
The College of Dentistry will broadcast its ceremony over the web. To access the webcast, please visit the UIC Commencement website at the designated time of the ceremony. A lot of planning goes into your Commencement events and it is our goal to make it as memorable and meaningful as possible. To help your prepare for the event please review the information provided below. We also request you pay particular attention to emails with "Commencement" in the subject line and respond, if requested, as soon as possible.
Information on purchasing your graduation regalia will be available at a later date for DMD/DMDAS graduates.
All graduating specialty residents should contact their assistant to the department heads to submit their sizing information for commencement regalia.
All graduates will be hooded during the Commencement Ceremony by their managing partner.
For those graduates who wish to be hooded by a honorary family hooder, please know that the hooder must be an immediate family member with a doctoral degree in a healthcare discipline. Your honorary family hooder will assist your managing partner in the hooding, will participate in the faculty procession, and will remain on stage for the duration of the entire program. If you plan on having an honorary family hooder please collect the following information about your honorary hooder: (a) first and last name, (b) relationship to you, (c) the college of their DDS/DMD, MD, PhD degree, and (d) weight and height for ordering their cap and gown. This information will be collected at a later date.
Your name will be printed on your diploma as it appears in the UIC Web for Students System. If any name changes are necessary, you will need to submit a form to the University's Records Office as soon as possible. You can retrieve the form here; then mail or deliver it to the Office of Admissions and Records in the Student Services Building, 1200 West Harrison Street.
Mandatory Exit Meeting
The date of your exit meeting is to be determined - please note that this meeting is mandatory, we do not recommend planning out of town travel the coming weeks prior to your commencement ceremony. At the meeting you will receive your class composite. In addition, information regarding financial aid/loan consolidation and repayment information will be provided by the Office of Financial Aid. Detailed information regarding your Commencement ceremony will be provided along with a virtual walk through of the ceremony.
