On Wed, June 13, UIC College of Dentistry students from ASDA will travel to the health fair hosted at the EZRA Multi-Service Center in Uptown, Chicago. They will teach proper oral hygiene instructions to the clients with the use of props as well as distribute dental goody bags. Over 140 people are expected to attend this event so many volunteers from college are requested. This will be the third and largest event that UIC ASDA students have done at EZRA just this year!
What is EZRA?
EZRA’s services strive to prevent homelessness, alleviate hunger, reduce isolation, and mitigate other self-sufficiency barriers. In addition, EZRA offers social activities and holiday celebrations to ensure that Jews who live in poverty remain actively connected to their heritage. The vast majority of the clients self-report income that is at or below the poverty line.
Therefore, these individuals greatly benefit from medical and dental instruction given from UIC.
