Dr. Stephen Campbell UIC College of Dentistry

 

The American College of Prosthodontists Education Foundation (ACPEF) has named Dr. Stephen D. Campbell, Professor of Restorative Dentistry at the University of Illinois at Chicago College of Dentistry, as the recipient of the 2018 Founders Society Award. The award recognizes those who have made a significant impact on the growth and development of the foundation, which secures resources to advance the specialty of prosthodontics.

"I am honored by this very kind recognition," said Dr. Campbell. "This award reflects the importance of relationships, and I am deeply appreciative of the incredible individuals I have had the opportunity to share this journey with. To all those that have worked so tirelessly to make a difference for our patients and communities, thank you."

Throughout his career, Dr. Campbell has been dedicated to improving dental education and standards of care. He served on the ACPEF Board of Directors for more than 12 years, including time as chair, and led fundraising initiatives that secured resources for pivotal projects, including the Digital Dentistry Curriculum initiative, implant education, and advocacy for dental specialty residents, faculty, and private practitioners.

"Dr. Campbell has had a significant role in making the foundation an institution that our donors, members, and corporate partners are proud to support," said Dr. Leonard Kobren, Chair of the ACPEF.

Dr. Campbell is a tenured Professor, Director of the Implant and Innovations Center, and Director of the Center for Digital Excellence at the UIC College of Dentistry. He served as head of the Department of Restorative Dentistry from 1992 to 2018. He is a Past President of the ACP, and the American Board of Prosthodontics (ABP). Dr. Campbell has also served as Prosthodontics Commissioner with the Commission on Dental Accreditation of the American Dental Association.

The American College of Prosthodontists (ACP) is the only ADA recognized organization for the specialty of prosthodontics.
