One of the most significant events in a dentist's career is being recognized as a Fellow of the International College of Dentists. Such acceptance signifies that one has brought honor to the dental profession through devoted service and high ethical behavior.

In mid-October, the American Dental Association held its annual meeting, during which it inducted several college faculty into the International College of Dentists. Faculty from the UIC College of Dentistry honored included: College of Dentistry Dean Clark Stanford,  Associate Dean for Academic Affairs, Toni Roucka and Zakaria Messieha in the Department of Periodontics.  Those awarded the prestigious title of Fellow, International College of Dentists must pass a rigorous, peer review process leading to the recognition of the individual's outstanding professional achievement.
