The clinic opened in 2023 through a collaborative partnership among the College of Dentistry, the City of Chicago, the Oral Health Forum, the UIC Department of Kinesiology and Nutrition, and UI Health. The facility was renovated and re-equipped with the support of a $500,000 congressional appropriation, while an initial grant from the Illinois Children’s Healthcare Foundation helped fund staffing and information technology needs. Additional support was provided by the Illinois State Dental Society Foundation, and dental supplies were donated by Henry Schein Cares. The clinic serves the community through Medicaid and a reduced-fee payment schedule, expanding access to high-quality oral health care for underserved populations.
