First Year Residents
Dr. Stephanie Bollow was born and raised in Downers Grove, IL. She attended the University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign for her undergraduate studies where she double majored in Molecular and Cellular Biology and Psychology and went on to earn her D.M.D from the University of Illinois at Chicago. Dr. Bollow’s interest in pediatrics stemmed from growing up with a niece and nephews and was solidified after working as a pediatric dental assistant in private practice before entering dental school. In her free time, she enjoys cheering on the Chicago Bears, cooking with her husband, and playing with her goldendoodle puppy, Kona.
Dr. Lydia DeJonge
Dr. Lydia DeJonge grew up in Grand Rapids, Michigan and Seattle, Washington, where she spent many happy hours biking, ice skating, and playing outside with childhood friends. She was encouraged by family members to pursue a career in healthcare and inspired by the great care she received from her own childhood dentist to go into dentistry. While in dental school at the University of Minnesota, she realized that she loved working with pediatric patients and educating families on good oral home care. In her spare time, Dr. Lydia still likes to bike, hike, and camp. Fun fact: Dr. Lydia is learning Spanish and loves to practice in the dental clinic!
Dr. Bhakti Desai
Dr. Bhakti Desai was born and raised in Birmingham, Alabama, where she fell in love with pediatrics and dentistry in high school. She obtained her Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from Birmingham-Southern College and her DMD from the University of Alabama at Birmingham School of Dentistry. She is excited for Chicago to be her first big move to a new city and loves to hike, cook, and explore new music in her free time.
Dr. Jorman Garcia
Dr. Jorman Garcia was born in Cuba and was raised in Miami, FL. He attended Nova Southeastern University where he obtained his DMD. Having lived in South Florida throughout most of his life, he is very excited to be in Chicago and experience a real winter! On his spare time, Dr. Garcia enjoys boating, cooking, fishing and trying different restaurants..
Dr. Geri Jones
Dr. Geri Jones was born and raised on the Southside of Chicago, IL. She received her B.S from Illinois State University in Community Health Education and earned her M.S. in College Teaching and Learning from Kaplan University. Her love for working with children began with providing healthy cooking classes to children and their families. Having a passion for oral healthcare, she enrolled in the DMD program at UIC College of Dentistry and graduated in May 2020. Geri enjoys antique shopping, traveling, and exploring new cuisine with her family and friends.
Dr. Christina Nuñez
Dr. Christina Nuñez was born and raised in upstate New York. She studied Biological Sciences, Public Health and Policy, and Nutrition at NYU. She then attended Columbia University where she pursued a fully funded DDS, MPH after being selected as the HRSA Predoctoral Primary Care Fellow for Underserved Children. As both a public health and pediatric dentist, she hopes to foster environments where entire populations can feel more comfortable smiling and therein connecting. In the future, she hopes to share her perspective with future dental students and community health leaders as a dental academic. Dr. Nuñez is passionate about spending time with her friends, challenging her limits in the great outdoors, and eating all the vegan food she can get her hands on. She can’t wait to explore Chicago and go on Midwest adventures!
Dr. Ibifuro Ogbanga
Dr. Ibifuro Ogbanga was born and raised in Phoenix, Arizona. She obtained a B.S. in Dental Hygiene from The University of Southern California in 2015, and D.D.S. at Howard University in 2020. During her gap year, she recognized a passion for pediatric dentistry while working as a hygienist providing free preventive services and education at Women, Infants, and Children clinics in the Phoenix Metropolitan area. She has a huge appreciation for cultural diversity and is very excited to benefit from the various multicultural experiences offered at UIC/Chicago. Apart from dentistry, she enjoys quality time with loved ones, Taco Tuesdays, and researching new tropical travel destinations for vacation!
Dr. Erika Peters
Dr. Erika Peters was born and raised in Carol Stream, IL. She earned her B.S. in Biology and D.M.D. from the University of Illinois at Chicago and is excited to stay here for her residency in pediatric dentistry. If you don’t see her in clinic, she’s likely reading a good book, running on the lakeshore, or checking out a new restaurant.
Dr. Manmit Sandhu
Dr. Manmit Sandhu was born and raised in Hanover Park, Illinois. She attended the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign where she obtained her Bachelors of Science in Molecular and Cellular Biology and a minor in Chemistry. She then traveled to the east coast where she earned her DMD from the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia. Dr. Sandhu’s interest of working with children began in high school where she was a camp counselor at NWSRA and taught oral health to elementary schools. In her free time, she loves exploring the outdoors and city and spending time with friends and family. She is thrilled to be back in Chicago and work with her community!
Second Year Residents
Dr. Nouf Alajaji was born in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. She obtained her bachelor’s degree of Dental Surgery from King Saud University. After graduation she joined a private practice for more experience. She is very excited for her new chaper to joing UIC and specialize in pediatric dentistry. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family and friends, traveling, and exploring new things.
Dr. Justin Baik
Dr. Justin Baik was born in Chicago and was raised in Glenview, IL. He obtained his B.S. from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, his M.S. from Rush University, and his D.M.D. from the University of Illinois, College of Dentistry. He is very excited to stay at UIC for his residency in Pediatric Dentistry. In his free time, he enjoys trying new restaurants and coffee shops, finding new music and podcasts to listen to, and spending as much time as possible with his loved ones.
Dr. Eun Jung Cho
Dr. Eun Jung Cho was born in Seoul, Korea and immigrated to the US at the age of 8, growing up in Southern California. She attended Washington University in St. Louis where she obtained a Bachelor of Arts in Chemistry with a minor in Psychology. She then moved to New York to work at a cancer center prior to earning her D.D.S. degree from the State University of New York at Buffalo School of Dental Medicine. In her spare time, she likes to travel, practice yoga, explore new restaurants, and spend time with her family and friends.
Dr. Anthony Lee
Dr. Anthony Lee was raised in the beautiful city of Vancouver, British Columbia, where he was first introduced to working with children at Sunny Hill Health Centre, an outpatient facility for kids with complex developmental needs. He continued his interest in the human condition and completed his undergraduate degree in Anthropology at McGill University in Montréal before receiving his DDS in New York. Anthony enjoys discussions around linguistics, moral philosophy, and history. He also has an unhealthy obsession with real estate and is a proud father to his two cats, Axel and Ari. Chicago will be the fifth major city that Anthony has lived in and he anticipates all the new memories to come!
Dr. Krisha Misa
Dr. Krisha Misa was born in Manila, Philippines and raised in Spokane, Washington. She received her B.S. in Biology as well as her DDS from University of Washington. She is very excited to begin this new chapter here in Chicago for her post-graduate training in Pediatric Dentistry. In her spare time, she enjoys spending her time outdoors snowboarding, hiking and backpacking and loves wandering around to discover new places to eat.
Dr. Briana S. Moody
Dr. Briana S. Moody was born and raised in St. Louis, Missouri. In 2015 she received her B.A in African American Studies and a minor in Biology from Saint Louis University. Dr. Moody went on to receive her D.D.S from Marquette University School of Dentistry in 2019. She developed a love and passion for pediatrics at a young age, even before her passion for dentistry. Because of this, choosing pediatric dentistry as her specialty was a no-brainer. She likes to spend her free time with family and friends, travelling, watching movies, and listening to music. She is very excited to be in the great city of Chicago and is ready to explore the city, try new restaurants, shop, and most of all… continue following her passion for working with children and their families!
Dr. Dhwani Patel
Dr. Dhwani Patel was born in Gujarat, India and raised in Suffolk, VA. She received her B.S. in Human nutrition, Foods and Exercise from Virginia Tech. She earned a M.S. in Biochemistry from Virginia Commonwealth University prior to earning her D.D.S. from Virginia Commonwealth University School of Dentistry. She is very excited to start her training in pediatric dentistry at UIC. In her spare time, she enjoys traveling to different countries, exploring the Chicago food scene, and spending time with family and friends.
Dr. Vidhee Shah
Dr. Vidhee Shah was born and raised in the Northwest suburbs of Chicago. She obtained her B.S. in Neuroscience at University of Illinois-Chicago. She then went on to earn her D.D.S. at Marquette University. Though Milwaukee was a fun city to live in for four years, Dr. Shah is thrilled to be back in her home city of Chicago and continue her passion to work with children! In her free time, she loves to spend time with her husband, family and friends. She also likes to travel, paint, cheer on the Chicago sports teams (Go Bears!), explore and try new (vegetarian, but delicious) places to eat in the greater Chicagoland area.
Dr. Chad Silver
Dr. Chad Silver was born and raised in Northbrook, IL. He received his B.S. in Psychology from Indiana University in 2015 and earned his D.M.D. from the University of Illinois-Chicago in 2019 after serving as class president throughout dental school. Chad’s motivation for pediatric dentistry stems from his passion for working with children with special needs. In his free time, Chad enjoys traveling, playing basketball, and checking out the best and newest Chicago restaurants.

The Pediatric Dentistry clinics at UIC College of Dentistry in Chicago offer a full spectrum of services for all children at every stage of their lives from infancy through adolescence including those with special and complex oral health needs, and patients with special developmental and behavioral care needs. Our Pediatric Dentistry clinics provide comprehensive oral health examinations, teeth cleaning, fluoride treatments, sealants, restorative procedures (fillings, crowns, etc.), extractions and minor surgical procedures, space-maintainers, athletic mouth guard, teeth whitening (for adolescents), interceptive orthodontic when applicable, and urgent care (Trauma, infection, etc.). These services can be completed using inhalation sedation (Nitrous oxide), moderate sedation, and general anesthesia.
