Office of Admissions: Int. Dental Degree Program
IDDP Program News & Info
- Thank you for your interest in the International Dentist Degree Program [IDDP] at the University of Illinois at Chicago. Each year the College accepts 24 IDDP candidates into this intense two-year program. The rewards of your hard work are well worth the effort. The success rate of our student's board and licensure exams attest to the high standards demanded of students in this program.
- The International Dentist Degree Program is designed to provide dentists who were trained outside the United States of America and Canada with the enhanced clinical skills and knowledge that are necessary to practice dentistry in the United States. The first two semesters focus on pre-clinical instruction, didactic instruction and departmental rotations. After evaluation, participants begin patient care. Upon the successful completion of the program the participant is awarded a Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree.
- The application cycle for admission to the IDDP-1 class entering in May 2009 will begin on March 1, 2008. The deadline for submitting your application for admission to the IDDP is August 1, 2008. Applications must be post-marked by August 1, 2008 in order to be considered for admission. Highly qualified candidates will be invited for an interview in the months of May - October, with final admissions decisions issued in November 2008. Interviews are mandatory and by invitation only.
