SAXITOXIN (TZ) 
- nuerotoxin found in marine algae
- selective sodium channel blocker
- acts in a matter of minutes
- produces paralytic shellfish poisoning (PSP), often starting as a numbness of the the oral mucosa this toxin causes a flaccid paralysis which occurs while the victim remains calm and conscious and ultimately results in death by respiratory failure
