Clinical Observations, Volunteering and Externships at the College
  • Note: This information is for non-UIC College of Dentistry students only. Current UIC DDS and IDDP students can find externship information here.
  • Application Procedures
  • The University of Illinois College of Dentistry College of Dentistry has many exciting opportunities for individuals looking for clinical observation, volunteering or externship positions. Note that all externships require an Institutional Affiliation Agreement. The number and cost (if applicable) of any program is determined by each department.
  • Before submitting any materials, please check with your department of interest to see what opportunities are available (see list of departments below).
  • Your application must include the following:
    • Registration Form
    • A current resume
    • A letter of recommendation from your Dean stating that you are in good academic standing
    • A letter from your Dean stating that your institution will cover your professional liability insurance while you are at the University of Illinois at Chicago College of Dentistry
    • Proof of health insurance
