Formal senior portraits were taken by Wyckoff Photographers in March. You will receive the proofs at your home shortly thereafter. Please don’t delay making your selections. The sooner you do so, the sooner you will have your final order and the composite photo of the class—preferably before commencement! Also, once all final selections have been made, those photos will be used for the senior yearbook.
-
You should return your order forms and proofs directly to Wyckoff; a self-addressed envelope will be enclosed with your proofs. Don’t forget to order a class composite. Just indicate that on the order form and include cost on your check or money order.

A lot of planning goes into your commencement event, and it is our goal to make it as memorable and meaningful as possible. There are tons of details, and we need to meet several deadlines in areas outside the College: the chancellor’s office, publications, food services, and more. Please pay particular attention to emails from me with “Commencement” in the subject line and respond, if requested, as soon as possible. You’ll find a random list of things to come on the reverse side.
-
-
There is no seating limitations at the Forum! However, as the event draws near, we will need a rough idea how many guests may attend in order to arrange refreshments for the reception.
-
-
If anyone’s culture mandates a certain accommodation at the commencement program, please let us know so arrangements can be made well enough in advance.

As Executive Associate Dean of Academic Affairs‚ Dr. Licari is always one of two hooders at commencement programs. For the past several years‚ the second individual has been chosen by graduating D4s and IDDP2s to serve as a “class honorary hooder” (Crystal Apple recipient).
-
For those graduates who will be hooded by a “family honorary hooder‚ please tell your family hooder that an abbreviated script and seating assignment will be provided when you pick up their regalia‚ the same day you will receive your cap/gown.
-
-
Traditions USA is the university’s source for academic regalia. The company also provides a variety of commencement-related items such as announcements and diploma frames. Beginning February 1st you can review their products online at
www.traditionsusa.com.
-
Your name will be printed on your diploma as it appears in Banner. If any changes are necessary‚ you will need to submit a form to the university’s Records Office. Please note that supporting documents are necessary in some cases. You can retrieve the form at:
http://www.uic.edu/depts/oar/forms/csdnchange.pdf; then mail it in or deliver it to OAR in the Student Services Building‚ the UIC Office of Admissions and Records.

All graduates are required to “clear” from the following areas in the College:
-
ENDO
OMFS
PEDD
PERI
Clinic Dispensing
Dental Lab
Unit/Lockers
Managing Partner
-
Last year we used Blackboard for the clearance process; the Office of Academic Affairs will be alerted by email when the program is activated so you can monitor your progress.
