Pediatric Care

Thank you for considering the University of Illinois at Chicago/College of Dentistry Department of Pediatric Dentistry for your child's dental needs. The Pediatric Dental Clinics of the College of Dentistry offer a complete range of dental and oral health services. The dental clinics are primarily scheduled for patients who have dental treatment needs that correspond to the teaching needs of our students and residents. Care is available in two separate settings- Pediatric Dentistry's General Clinic and Specialty Clinic - for patients with both simple and complex needs.
Pediatric Dentistry General Clinic

Services are provided in our student teaching clinic where individuals learning to become dentists are carefully supervised by dental faculty to work with the child patient.
Pediatric Dentistry Specialty Clinic

Services are provided in our postgraduate residency teaching clinic where individuals who have already earned their dental degree are learning to become dental specialists in pediatric dentistry. Pediatric dentists have special training, which allows them to provide the most up-to-date and thorough treatment for a wide variety of children's dental problems. They are trained and qualified to treat special patients who may have emotional, physical, or mental handicaps. Consultation, evaluation and dental treatment for children who have extensive medical complications or are otherwise medically compromised are part of the services provided by the Specialty Clinic. Dental treatment performed under general anesthesia at the University of Illinois at Chicago Medical Center is considered on an as-needed basis.
