Department of Patient Services: Hours, Location, and Cost

Registration starts at 8 a.m.; however, patient care does not begin until between 9 and 10 a.m. depending on each specific clinic.

We are committed to serving the oral health needs of Chicago and neighboring communities, however due to our current resources the College clinics have a restricted capacity.

Urgent Care – Urgent Care dental treatment will be available by Appointment Only. To schedule an appointment please call (312) 996-8636 between the hours of 8:30am and 9:30am Monday – Friday. Appointments will be scheduled for the next business day.

Screening for Adult Comprehensive Care - Effective 9/14/2009 we will begin accepting calls to schedule screening appointments for our Comprehensive Care program. For information on the program and to schedule your appointment please call (312) 996-1265.

The College of Dentistry is located in
the Illinois Medical District, southwest of downtown Chicago at 801 S. Paulina St. (at the northwest corner of Polk and Paulina).

How to Get Here
By train
The Chicago Transit Authority (CTA) Pink Line (Cermak/54th or Douglas branch) stops at Polk St., one-half block down from the entrance to the College. The CTA Blue Line stops at the Illinois Medical District stop; get off at the Paulina exit and walk four blocks south through the Rush University campus.

By car
Parking is available in structures located at the corner of Taylor and Paulina and Taylor and Wood Streets. Limited parking is also available across the street from the College on Paulina Street. Validation for reduced rates is available to patients in our clinics.

The College of Dentistry is not a free clinic. We operate on a reduced fee schedule (except for the
Allen W. Anderson Faculty Dental Practice). The cost of treatment provided by student dentists is lower than private practitioners, but will take longer than in most private dental offices.

After a complete evaluation of your dental needs, you will receive an estimate of the costs of treatment. Payment is required at the time of treatment for patients treated in student clinics.

Payment Methods
We accept cash, personal checks, money orders, Visa, MasterCard, and Discover, American Express and Debit Card transactions.

Medicaid (Public Aid)
We also accept Medicaid (public aid) cards for covered Medicaid (public aid) services in most College of Dentistry Clinics. Adults have limited coverage in Illinois. Children have a broader range of covered benefits. It is the patient's and/or parent's/guardian's responsibility to know and understand their applicable covered benefits. Insurance
We provide information for insurance claims and will assist patients in filing claims when applicable. Individuals who qualify may request special payment arrangements for orthodontic treatment or other complex treatments.
