The UIC College of Dentistry Reunion is moving to the suburbs.

The Reunion will be held at the beautiful Carlisle Banquet Facility at 435 E. Butterfield Rd. in Lombard, IL, 60148, Friday, April 23, 2010. All UIC College of Dentistry and Loyola and Northwestern dental school alumni are invited. A reception will be held at 6:30 p.m., with dinner at 7:30 p.m.

“Chicago venues, whether downtown or near the campus, were becoming prohibitively expensive, explained Dr. Kapil Vij, 99, Pedo ’01, MS Oral Sci ’04. “And with many of our alumni living and or practicing in the suburbs, that Friday night commute to Reunion was just getting to be too long and difficult. The Carlisle is a superior alternative that everyone will enjoy.”

Alumni, spouses, friends, and faculty all will enjoy Reunion 2010. It will feature special recognition for members of classes whose graduation years ended in a “0” or a “5” and for emeritus alumni--those who graduated more than 50 years ago.

Several special awards will be presented as well.

Amenities will include an open bar; hot hors d’ouvres during the pre-event reception; wine at the tables during the filet mignon and salmon dinner; and a sweet table with chocolate fountain after dinner. Valet parking will be only $4.

When you arrive at the Carlisle, you are greeted by a picturesque fountain outlined in beautifully landscaped floral designs. Double doors open up to an elegantly draped lobby studded by glistening chandeliers, and the dinner will be held in a beautiful ballroom.

The food at the Carlisle has earned ten Silver Platter Awards from Food Industry News. Meals are prepared from the finest ingredients by a chef with 20 years’ of experience, an served by white-gloved staff.

Table seating will be by class year. Color photographs will be taken of all classes and may be purchased at the event.

In recent years, more faculty, young alumni, and Loyola and Northwestern alumni have come in increasing numbers. There will be tables for Loyola and Northwestern alumni, so UIC College of Dentistry alumni are urged to invite their Loyola and Northwestern colleagues.
