DMD Program News & Info
  • Welcome!

  • Thank you for your interest in the Doctor of Dental Medicine [DMD] program at the University of Illinois at Chicago. Each year the College of Dentistry accepts up to 66 DMD candidates into the program. A primary mission of the College is preparing highly qualified individuals for careers as general and dental specialty practitioners for the State of Illinois.
  • The application cycle for admission to the D-1 class begins on June 1. The deadline for submitting your application materials is December 1. A rolling admissions process is used, with preference given to earlier applications. Since the college has a limited capacity, it must be selective in choosing students.
  • The admissions committee starts the review process as soon as applications begin to arrive in June. Highly qualified candidates will be invited for an interview in the months of October – March. Interviews are mandatory and by invitation only.
  • On this website you will find helpful information about our admissions requirements, information on how to apply, costs and financial aid, and a list of frequently asked questions.
  • Further information about the new DMD curriculum changes can be found by clicking here.

  • IMPORTANT UPDATE AFFECTING APPLICANTS FOR THE ENTERING CLASS OF 2014

  • Effective June 1, 2013, the University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC) College of Dentistry (COD) will be unable to accept applications for the DMD program from out-of-state candidates. UIC will only accept and process applications from in-state candidates. The combined PhD/DMD program will continue to accept both in-state and out-of-state candidates. To be considered for the PhD/DMD program, all candidates must contact Katherine Long (longka@uic.edu) by September 1.
