Research Funding

The Division of Prevention and Public Health Sciences holds several grants and awards. The overarching research focus includes:

  • health disparities
  • provision of an oral health workforce prepared to address health disparities issues

The intent of the grants is to increase access to dental care for underserved populations by improving the curriculum of dental schools.

Previous grants awarded to the Division include:

  • Robertwood Johnson Foundation in 2002
  • Illinois Children's Healthcare Foundation in 2007
  • National Children's Oral Health Foundation in 2009
