In order to avoid delays with the processing of your application, please use the following checklist (use your mouse to click on "checklist" and it will open in a separate page) for a description of the required materials that you will have to upload to your UIC application.
Dates and Deadlines
The application cycle for the May 2015 entering class will begin on March 17, 2014. The deadline to submit the CAAPID application and UIC online application is July 1, 2014. If you submit your application by July 1, you will be allowed to upload your supplemental application documents after the deadline date.
To apply to the UIC College of Dentistry International Dentist Degree Program you first have to submit the American Dental Education Association (ADEA) Centralized Application for Advanced Placement for International Dentists (CAAPID). Applicants must submit new checklist materials each year as UIC does not use previous cycle applicant credentials.
UIC IDDP Online Application
After you submit the Centralized Application for Advanced Placement for International Dentists (CAAPID), please submit the UIC Supplemental Application. Applicants must provide proof of citizenship.
Uploading your Supplemental Materials
After you submit the UIC online application, you will receive 2 separate emails (this may take up to 5 - 10 business days) indicating when you can upload the required supplemental materials. Please review the electronic document criteria requirements. Please do not mail your documents, our office will not accept them.
Electronic Document Criteria
- PDF format is required. The file size limit is 5MB.
- To limit file size, scan in the lowest resolution that results in a legible document.
- Documents comprised of multiple pages should be combined into a single PDF file.
- The orientation of the text on the document should match the orientation of the document file, i.e. portrait/landscape.
Once uploaded, documents cannot be viewed or edited by applicants. Ensure that you are submitting the correct document for the specified checklist item.
If you do not have personal access to a scanner, many office service centers and public libraries may provide you access to one. Click this link to learn how you can save a document as a PDF file.
The status of UIC IDDP applications will be tracked via the UIC CAAPID database. Once the Office of Admissions receives your CAAPID application we will send you a Receipt of Application e-mail.
After we receive and log all supplemental application materials and your application becomes complete you will receive an Application Complete e-mail. If the supplemental application materials are incomplete, our office will send you an e-mail indicating which documents you are missing.
Selection of Students
Since the College has a limited capacity, it must be selective in choosing students. The selection is based upon the applicant's credentials, letters of recommendation, and information obtained during the application process.
Only those candidates deemed highly qualified will be invited for an on-campus interview in the months of June - September. Interviews are mandatory and by invitation only. Selected students will be notified via email if they are selected for an interview, please check your spam and trash inboxes. The interview will be extended by the College's Admissions Office at the approval of the Admissions Committee. Candidates should NOT contact our office to request an interview.
