Dr. Susan Rowan Named Interim Associate Dean for Clinical Affairs
With the announcement of Dr. David Clark’s retirement in September, the UIC College of Dentistry is proud to name Dr. Susan Rowan Interim Associate Dean for Clinical Affairs. Dean Bruce Graham praised Dr. Rowan’s history of service to the college as well as her extraordinary abilities in a variety of roles:
“Dr. Rowan is eminently well-qualified for this new leadership role by her nearly thirty years of experience as a clinical educator in the College. She has been a faculty member since 1984, serving as a prepatient care and clinical instructor, and as a course director in the Department of Restorative Dentistry for twenty two of those years. Since 2006, she has been Managing Partner and Clinic Coordinator for the Monet Group Practice Clinic in the predoctoral student adult comprehensive care program. Throughout her term as a faculty member and leader, Dr. Rowan has impressed us all with her extraordinary interpersonal and organizational skills, and her tireless efforts on behalf of student clinical learning and patient service. She is a clinical education innovator who has developed creative clinical education models and programs to the great benefit of our students.”
“Dr. Rowan has been a Fellow in the Scholars for Teaching Excellence Program in the Department of Medical Education. She has served as President of the College Alumni Association and the Sigma Chapter of Omicron Kappa Upsilon Honor Society. She has served on virtually every faculty committee and as a mentor to dental students and UIC College Prep High School students.”
The College of Dentistry welcomes Dr. Susan Rowan into her new leadership role.
