  • Illinois Health Connect
Pediatric Dental Clinic for Infants, Children, and Adolescents

  • Welcome!!
  • Stephen Campbell

  • We are excited that you have chosen IL Health Connect Dental Clinic for your dental home! Your child and his/her dental health is important to us and we will do our best to provide the best care possible in a safe and effective manner.
  • At IL Health Connect Dental Clinic we believe in a partnership between our doctors, parents, and patients in promoting oral health. Good habits start at home and it is important that we work together to promote and reinforce good practices. The American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry and American Academy of Pediatrics recommends that a child be referred to a "dental home" by a child's first birthday.
  • Our dental services are available only for children that are enrolled in the Illinois Health Connect Program that have UIC Medical Center as their PCP (Primary Care Provider). Your doctor will refer your child to our dental clinic. Please be aware there are certain procedures that are not covered by your dental insurance. Furthermore, a few dental procedures may require a referral to a dental specialist. Some of these procedures include Root Canals, Crown & Bridges, Surgical Dental Extractions, Dentures & Partials, and Orthodontic Treatment/Braces.

  • First Visit

  • During your child's first visit the doctor will obtain a complete medical and dental history and examine your child's mouth to determine your child's needs for dental treatment.

  • Prevention

  • The best approach to dental care is prevention. We will help protect your child's smile with regular cleanings, protective fluoride treatments and tooth sealants. We'll also teach your child good dental hygiene habits. We spend a lot of time teaching kids how to take care of their teeth, and how to brush and floss the "sugar bugs" away.

  • Dental Treatment

  • It is best if you refrain from using words around your child that might cause unnecessary fear, such as "needle", "shot", "yank", "drill", "pull" or "hurt". Our office uses words that convey the same message, but are pleasant and non-frightening to the child.

  • School Exams and Forms

  • All Illinois children in Kindergarten and Grades 2 and 6 are required to have an oral health examination. We have the school exam forms available for you and we will gladly fill one out for your child after completing a thorough dental examination.

  • Clinic Policy

  • The demand for dental services from our clinic is very high. As a result, tardiness to our appointments will not be permitted. Repeated tardiness and/or failures will cause for a patient to be dismissed from our dental clinic.
